「間」「MA」of Japanese have various meanings.This Japanese word means "Space" "Time" "Suitable distance"and so on..
"Space" of between forest trees.
"Time" of daily life.
"Suitable distance/Interval" of human between nature.
We create a beauty in "間".

Worked under Takahiro Inoue, garden designer, at Ueyoshi Zoen Co., Ltd. in Kyoto.

1982 Reconstruction of the Katsura Imperial Villa Garden
2001 Japanese garden at the Official Residence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives
1987 Established own company, Tsukuba Landscape Co., Ltd.

| Yoichi Eda and his company design and construct approximately 200 gardens and landscapes every year, creating symbiosis with nature. His designs stand aloof from both typical Japanese and Western styles, learning from tradition but creating something new and innovative. He works with young people coming from all over Japan, training them as professional garden designers and construction workers. As a certified landscape expert, he also supervises stone and wood arrangement and construction. Yoichi Eda teaches at Tokyo University of Agriculture as a part-time instructor, and also lectures at many events and seminars, including the International Exterior and Garden Expo and Funai Consulting Incorporated seminars. |
